International Relations and Modern Languages at the University of Portsmouth - by Rachel

Hi, my name is Rachel and I study at the University of Portsmouth. I'm currently an undergraduate in International Relations and Modern Languages.
Three words I would use to describe my course are current, modern and exciting.
A typical day for me at university will start with my lectures followed by seminars. I would also make sure I go to the library to consolidate my learning, all whilst making sure that I get my food and stay hydrated.
Something that I found really exciting and fascinating whilst in my degree is learning how to translate using software. This is because I enjoy watching a lot of shows in different languages, which I would need subtitles for. So, learning how to do it and learning what goes behind the scenes of translating and subtitles is really something that I think is so interesting.
